We service both, and the honest answer is that they need different attention rather than the same checklist.

Most of the treated water in this part of Denton County is made in Lewisville. The Upper Trinity Regional Water District runs its Tom Taylor plant here, treating Lewisville Lake and Ray Roberts water for cities across the county. That’s trivia for most people and useful for a pool owner in one respect: this is regional surface water with enough calcium in it that hardness climbs steadily through a summer of topping off, so it wants watching rather than assuming.

Older Lewisville pools are usually running their second or third generation of equipment, and the thing worth watching on them is the filter. A cartridge or DE filter that has been topped up and rinsed but never properly serviced will hold pressure while quietly filtering almost nothing, which shows up as water that never quite gets clear no matter what you add to it.

The newer pools in Castle Hills and the developments near the lake tend to have automation, variable-speed pumps, and salt systems. Those systems are only as good as their settings, and we regularly find variable-speed pumps left running at a speed that either wastes electricity or fails to turn the water over at all.
